Working too much can harm your health for these 3 reasons

Many people believe that overwork is synonymous with commitment, but in reality workload is one of the main factors that affect our health and well-being.

Being addicted to work (workaholism) prevents us from sharing valuable time with our family and friends. Also, it takes us away from the real world and emotionally hardens us. It also makes us prone to illnesses such as depression and anxiety.

Others become frustrated and even insensitive. Furthermore, they do not stop working even when they have the opportunity to do so. For this reason, we have listed three reasons why we should start working to live and not live to work. (one)

can harm your health for these 3 reasons

1. You become addicted

Addicts become obsessive, manipulate information, take work home, exert themselves even when sick, and in leisure time they cannot stop thinking about anything other than their work. (2)

2. You don't perform the same

Japan is one of the countries where work culture is very important. Hence the karoshi syndrome, which means "death from overwork." On this island many people end up dying from a heart attack or are diagnosed with high blood pressure or prolonged stress at an early age. Excessive work also ends up affecting the worker's job performance because the worker ends up wasting time doing unnecessary tasks or starts having extra-labor difficulties: low quality of relationships and dissatisfaction outside of work. 3. You forget those you love

Making work the central point of life affects happiness and personal relationships. Also, it increases the probability of generating psychological problems at the family level (the children begin to suffer anxiety or depression), the couple begins to feel unloved, ignored, alone and in need of attention. In this sense, family therapies are advisable, in which the closest people are explained what the disease consists of and they are given a series of guidelines to help them overcome addiction.
